Session led by:
Chris Wright, Head of Health and Wellbeing, Youth Sport Trust
Ben Levinson OBE, Executive Principal, Kensington Primary School

This session will explore the need for change in the education system, how we value and approach the health and wellbeing problems with staff and pupils to unlock learning, and the steps to success in creating the happiest, healthiest schools in the world.

It will focus on the fantastic practice and impact at Kensington Primary School in Newham, led by the Chair of the Well School Board and Executive Principal, Ben Levinson OBE.

Delegates will take away an understanding of what steps can be taking in the current system, what works to create a whole school cultural change and what tactic can be used to support happy, healthy learners.

Session led by:
Julia Harnden, ASCL Funding Specialist

Mainstream budgets for 23/24 and 24/25 include several income streams, some of which sit within the core schools budget and some that sit outside it.  In this session we will unpack which income lines will be baselined, in other words baked into mainstream revenue funding, and which  are time limited. Understanding this helps budget planning.

We will also look forward to what might happen in the next spending review period which will determine primary funding from April 2025.

Delegates will takeaway funding update and budget planning hints and tips.

Session led by:
Kieran Dempsey, Test Administration Manager
David Malcolm, Head of Policy and Stakeholder Engagement

In this session, STA will give an overview of key information for schools to support their administration of assessments in 2024, including answers to frequently asked questions on specific situations. There will also be a brief update on policy developments around primary assessment. Delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions they have about test administration or policy.

Delegates will receive up to date information on the primary assessment programme in England and hear STA answer any questions around test administration or policy that ASCL members may have.
