While we support the introduction of V levels in principle, we raise significant concerns about the proposed timeline for implementation, warning that reforms risk being introduced before providers, staff and students are ready.
We also call on the government to ensure that V levels are available in larger sizes, as well as smaller, more flexible options, so they can meet the needs of a wide range of learners and providers.
In addition, ASCL is clear that funding for all existing Applied General Qualifications must be retained until V levels are fully rolled out, to avoid damaging learner choice and progression.
