Claire Armitstead, Director of the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) Cymru, comments on today’s publication of level 3 results in Wales.
“Congratulations to all students receiving results today, everyone should be very proud of their efforts. The results achieved today are down to the hard work of our students and the dedication of our schools.
“The increase in the proportion of students receiving top grades is encouraging as, even though we returned to pre-pandemic grading standards last year, this cohort still had disruption to earlier parts of their education. These grades therefore reflect the brilliant effort put in by students, and the excellent support and guidance provided by all the staff working in schools and colleges across the country.
“Naturally, while many students will be very happy with their results, others may be disappointed. We would encourage anyone unsure of their next steps to speak to their teachers as there are always a range of options available to young people. We would like to wish all students the very best for the future.”
