Review of post-16 qualifications at level 3 in England: second stage

15/01/2021
ASCL response to the review of post-16 qualifications in England: second stage.

ASCL welcomes the introduction of T levels and the new focus that this brings to vocational education.

However, there are many aspects of the existing vocational provision at level 3 that already meet the three key principles of the review, i.e. “clear purpose”, “high quality” and “successful progression”.

These qualifications should not therefore be defunded until we have evidence that the new T level qualifications are working successfully and have not left any gaps in provision that will disadvantage students.
