ASCL is concerned about the decline in languages, particularly post-16, and the recruitment and retention issues around language teachers.

We believe the learning of languages should be stimulating and rewarding for pupils, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to become global citizens. The opportunity to learn languages needs to be open to all.
