Following the appointment of Andy Burnham as Prime Minister, the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) has developed a series of ‘education asks’ to reflect the current priorities facing the education sector, the communities it serves, and the needs of the country as a whole. Working with the government and other stakeholders our aim is to make progress on these initiatives over the next two or three years before the next General Election.
ASCL also carried out a similar exercise at the time of the 2024 election. You can read what we called for at that time and the progress made on those objectives
here.
Alongside the following list, we would emphasise the importance of testing all policy initiatives, thinking and development to ensure that they reflect the core values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
