Harnessing the potential of technology as a secondary school leader

As a secondary school leader, we know there are many challenges that occupy your time, such as safeguarding and security, funding pressures, improved inclusion and developing pupils' oracy and digital skills to name but a few. Apple has worked together with ASCL to deliver a day that helps you address all of the above and more and begin building an effective plan to harness the power of technology across your school. The Department for Education will also be supporting the event by demonstrating how schools can better understand their digital environment and effectively plan their core technology infrastructure, so they are able to realise the benefits technology offers.

Learning outcomes:
  1. Evaluate and strategically plan technology integration - Participants will be able to assess their school's current digital environment and develop a comprehensive technology strategy that addresses key leadership challenges including safeguarding, security and funding pressures whilst maximising educational benefits.
  2. Design inclusive digital learning frameworks - Participants will be able to create actionable plans for using technology to enhance inclusion, develop pupils' oracy skills and build digital literacy across diverse learner populations within their school community.
  3. Implement sustainable technology infrastructure planning - Participants will be able to apply Department for Education guidance to evaluate their core technology infrastructure needs, develop realistic implementation timelines and establish effective governance structures for ongoing technology management and development.
The events will all take place at the Apple offices in Battersea but will be for regional groups for networking and collaboration.
