Being Resilient

This bespoke consultancy offer aims to redefine individual and team resilience as being about strengthening future performance rather than coping better.

The emphasis will be on providing participants with a toolkit of resilience for individuals, leaders, teams and institutions and will allow you to:
  • learn the skills and components of resilience in a work setting
  • develop a toolkit of resilience, for individuals, leaders, teams and institutions.
  • explore how a systems and collective approach will strengthen individual and team resilience and allow you to take steps to master stress, adapt to change and be proactive so that you can thrive.
We have all had to dig deep and adapt to change in these very uncertain times. Asking the right questions will allow you to take a systematic, value-based approach so that performance can be sustained allowing you to flourish, be creative, and operate in a culture of mutual support and wellbeing. It explores how you can take control, measure risk, and assess your priorities. Understanding the language and skills of resilience will help you to be confident, robust, and authentic.

The nature of the training is tailored to the context of you, your teams and your institution and can be delivered online or in-house.

Working with an ASCL consultant, the training programme uses validated models and can be made up of any or all of the following components:
  • Learning to be Resilient - a 1 hour presentation focusing on individual resilience
  • Being a Resilient Team - and/or a 1 hour presentation focusing on collective team resilience
  • Individual coaching for leaders and teams (minimum 3 x 1 hour sessions recommended)
  • Team coaching (leadership, associate staff, faculty, pastoral, community, board of trustees and governors) (eg tailored to need: 1 hour, 3 x 1 hour, half-day)

This consultancy explores effective models, in particular the components of resilience as set out in the globally validated and researched toolkit, “Resilience at Work” (R@W); developed by Kathryn McEwen.

There is also the additional option of purchasing the Resilience at Work Toolkit Scale which offers an online self-evaluation of individual, team or leader resilience and generates a comprehensive report which will then be used to set out steps for action with the consultant.
