Brand New to Leading Data

A one day in-person course

This full day will cover everything a school leader who is brand new to leading on data will need to know. Starting by covering key principles to bear in mind when working with performance data, the programme will cover key dates to be aware of, exam results days, making sense of internal and external data, your ASP and IDSR, how to work with governors and how to prioritise outcomes to support school improvement.

Learning outcomes
  • Understand the range of performance measures
  • Know where the key accountability points are through the academic year
  • Know what information can be found and when
  • Know about census data and checking exercise and dates
  • Understanding the purpose and use of external accountability tools such as ASP and IDSR, transition data, FFT and other data platforms
  • Know how to share information with governors and what you might present in a report to governors and/or the whole staff.
  • Know how to help the wider school community understand the meaning and impact of external and internal data
  • Know how to use data to support school improvement
Delegates must indicate whether they are from a primary or secondary school context so that the course can be tailored to ensure all training needs are met and covered during the day.
