The English-Speaking Union (ESU) is an educational oracy charity which equips young people with the communication skills and cross-cultural understanding they need to thrive and build a more collaborative world. Our respected public speaking, performance and debating competitions build students’ confidence, helping them to think critically and with an open mind. Our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) trains teachers to better teach these skills, helping students discover the agency they can have at school and beyond.
