Using Data Better: Workshops for School Leaders and their Data Managers

08:45 - 16:00, 5 December 2017 Birmingham

"Hugely useful session, accessible, informative and helpful."
Past delegate, 2018

Data has never been as important to schools as it is now, nor has it been available in such quantity. Managing in this environment, combined with accountability pressures, has become increasingly challenging with few opportunities for schools to benchmark their own approaches to data analysis and interpretation.

In this practical, hands-on workshop - and ideally attending in pairs from each school - new or experienced senior leaders responsible for data together with their data managers, will reflect on and share their own practice whilst also learning from others.

Participants will:

  • understand and share good practice in data methodology in a supportive workshop environment

  • learn how to establish a clear, concise narrative around their school’s performance

  • develop evaluation skills

  • understand how data-management systems are used most effectively to support school improvement and accountability

Participants should bring their own laptops and will use new tools and techniques with their own data, including ASP (formerly RAISEonline) and other data sources, to develop a clear picture of their school’s performance.

Suitable for headteachers, deputy headteachers, assistant headteachers and data managers.
