Ofsted is currently consulting on the most significant change to school inspection in a decade. The promise is to focus less on data and get back to what matters most – the quality of education.
But what will this mean in practice?
In these new, half-day briefings, ASCL’s Curriculum and Inspection Specialist Stephen Rollett will outline the key points in Ofsted’s proposed inspection framework, due to be implemented in September 2019.
Stephen has been closely involved in the development of the new framework and will explain the research and rationale behind Ofsted’s proposals. The sessions will help delegates make informed decisions about how best to respond to the plans outlined in the consultation and will cover:
Unearthing the devil in the detail.
What research reveals about effective curriculum design.
Why and how leaders must get their curriculum thinking right before leaping to action.
Delegates will have opportunities to discuss the implications for their schools, and to contribute feedback towards ASCL’s formal response to the consultation.
These essential briefings are designed for headteachers, deputy headteachers, and assistant headteachers in primary and secondary phases of education.
