Pay and Reward Setting for CEOs and Executive Principals in MATs - AM session

08:45 - 12:00, 11 January 2018 London Book now

It is essential that setting pay for executive heads/principals and CEOs is transparent and achieves value for money. Designed to assist employers when setting pay for executive heads/principals and chief executive officers (CEOs) in England, this half-day course will also look at the most appropriate pension arrangements, and under what circumstances someone ceases to be eligible for the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.

We will consider under what circumstances an individual should be paid under the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD), and how their pay might be calculated, as well as exploring alternative models.

Participants will:

  • explore the different leadership models and understand their implications when setting pay

  • review how the STPCD leadership pay setting arrangements can be used effectively to set pay for executive heads/principals

  • discuss alternative pay setting arrangement models for chief executive officers

  • understand what the most appropriate pension arrangements might be in particular circumstances and the key issues to consider

  • gain an awareness of associated tax implications

Suitable for executive heads, chief executive officers, governors/trustees, business leaders and heads aspiring to system leadership (all phases, England only)
