Ofsted Seminars: Understanding and managing inspection

08:30 - 16:00, 15 January 2019 Leeds

"Very practical and sensible advice which can be implemented without feeling there is a huge burden in terms of workload."
Past delegate, 2018

These popular, one-day seminars provide a comprehensive overview of the latest Ofsted framework for both short and full inspections, with a focus on how to manage the inspection, an explanation of how judgements are made, and effective self-evaluation.

A range of practical activities will assist delegates once they are back at school to build confidence and support school improvement, without driving up workload.

Participants will:

  • understand how the framework works

  • understand the evaluation criteria and how they are applied

  • gain advice on how to manage the inspection, including Ofsted 'myths'

  • explore what effective self-evaluation looks like, including for short inspections

  • explore strategies to enable leaders to take the initiative in the inspection process

  • gain an insight into the latest national inspection policy issues

This seminar is suitable for executive headteachers, headteachers, principals, deputy headteachers, vice principals, assistant headteachers, assistant principals, and aspiring leaders.
