A full and comprehensive overview of the latest Ofsted framework will be provided in this whole day seminar. There will be a focus on explaining how judgements are made, current issues to be aware of, preparing for inspection and effective self-evaluation. Both the shorter and fuller inspections will be covered. The seminar is underpinned by a range of practical activities which delegates will be able to use in their schools to prepare for inspection and support school improvement.

Participants will:

  • understand what the framework includes in the five broad headings and in overall effectiveness

  • understand the evaluation criteria and how they are applied

  • gain advice on how to prepare for an inspection, including Ofsted myths

  • explore what effective self-evaluation looks like, including for short inspections

  • have strategies to enable them to take the initiative in the inspection process

  • gain an insight into latest national inspection policy issues

This seminar is suitable for executive headteachers, headteachers, principals, deputy headteachers, vice principals, assistant headteachers, assistant principals, and aspiring leaders.
