This course provides an overview of essential policy and practice, as well as advice on how to establish and embed a school data culture that makes best use of available data to improve pupils' outcomes.

Participants will:

  • consider data models, targets and estimates (whole school and departmental)

  • understand contextual data for planning teaching and learning

  • know about assessment cycles, practice, tracking and reporting

  • learn about key moments in the data calendar – what to expect, when and where to look

  • identify data for self-evaluation and school and area development plans

Suitable for aspiring senior leaders with an interest in data for learning, or school leaders who have recently acquired responsibility for leading data and/or assessment strategy at their schools.
