Aspects of Timetabling

Taught by: Sam Ellis, ASCL Funding Specialist and timetable Trainer

These training DVDs can be used to supplement the ASCL timetable training courses, to support in-house training of staff at school and to inform senior staff of aspects of the timetable process that they could usefully be aware of. The films also indicate the connection between school finances and the timetable, a link which can be followed up through ASCL PD’s strategic finance training.

Included in the three-disc package are 13 training videos of 5-10 minutes each that feature Sam Ellis outlining key points. These are supplemented by six films with comprehension exercises, a set of notes, copies of the presentations used in the video sequences and example spreadsheets that can be adapted for your school.

There is also a sequence of role play films which can be used as the basis for comprehension work with small groups of staff or governors who need to be aware of timetable issues without necessarily constructing one.
