Leading On - Preparing for Ofsted in a primary school

This webinar will support primary school leaders in preparing for an Ofsted inspection

This session will examine the inspection framework in detail and explain what inspectors will be looking for in primary school inspections.

The webinar will explore the primary school IDSR (Inspection Data Summary Report) and the information an inspection team will have about a primary school prior to the visit.

There will be a focus on the detail of the inspection framework and its implications.

The session will also discuss some of the logistical details of the process from the initial phone call and issues that may arise with suggested ways to resolve them.

The webinar will then present reading as a main area of the primary school inspection process and how impact can be evidenced, and what will happen in a deep dive.

The impact of Covid-19 on this area of school leadership will be taken into consideration.

Participants will:

  • develop a more detailed understanding of the inspection framework and IDSR, including what inspectors will be expecting
  • gain confidence by understanding what might be asked and how to demonstrate impact
  • develop an understanding of the temporary changes to the inspection process as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic which can be shared with colleagues.
There will also be the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas with other participants.

This session is suitable for all senior leaders in primary schools. Primary school governors may also find the session useful.
