Leading On - Mitigating risk and embracing innovation in SEND provision

This session will focus on the impact of Covid-19 on SEND provision.

Covid-19 has made unprecedented and constantly changing demands on school leaders. This has impacted on SEND provision and appeared to exacerbate existing strengths and weaknesses within the system.

This webinar will outline areas, such as transition planning, co-production and provision mapping that have required substantial change during the Covid-19 period.

The session will also reflect on the challenges of risk assessment and mitigation for pupils identified with SEND.

Much excellent SEND provision is underpinned by creativity and risk-taking  the tension that this creates for leaders in a risk-averse context will be explored.

Finally, the lessons learnt around the role of leaders and the position of SEND within the strategic leadership context will be outlined, with opportunities for sharing and reflection with participants.

If you cannot attend live you will receive a copy of the recording, links to any resources discussed, and the opportunity to submit questions.
