  • Ramadan and exams, 2017: information for schools and colleges

    In 2017, Ramadan coincides with the examination season, as it did last year. ASCL has again worked with imams, Islamic scholars, experts, Muslim chaplains in the education sector and leaders from a range of different theological persuasions to produce an information paper for schools and colleges.

    The government has published a Clerking Competency Framework, which sets out the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to provide professional clerking to school and academy governing boards.

  • Teachers' Pensions update

    Teachers’ Pensions has introduced Monthly Data Collection (MDC) for employers to provide their salary and service information. MDC replaces the Annual Service Return (ASR). All employers must be set up to use MDC by December 2017.

    The DfE has published shadow Attainment 8 data using 2017 points. The information shows how national 2015 to 2016 Attainment 8 scores look when re-calculated using a 2017 point score methodology.
