School Buying Hubs

The two pilot School Buying Hubs are now fully operational in the North West and South West regions. This new service is free and begins with an initial consultation with a hub buying expert to help schools identify the best deals for purchasing such items as IT, printing, complex service contracts, insurance etc. Advice and guidance is tailored to the needs of the individual school or trust.

The DfE’s Schools Commercial Team scrutinises deals to identify best value for schools across business services, facilities management, ICT and Utilities. This means that savings of around 40% on printing, 10% on utilities and £8,000 per annum on energy could be achieved.
