Reviews of marking: centre-assessed marks

12 September 2017

For GCSE controlled assessments, GCE coursework, GCE and GCSE non-examination assessments

JCQ and its awarding body members (AQA, CCEA, OCR, Pearson and WJEC) have issued a reminder to centres that candidates must now be informed of their centre assessed marks (for example EPQ) so that they may request a review of the centre’s marking before marks are submitted to the awarding body. This will require centres to ensure that they make arrangements to allow this to be carried out and that they ensure that the review of marking is carried out by an assessor who has appropriate competence.

JCQ has also produced a template policy to help centres prepare.
