AQA, CCEA, OCR, Pearson and WJEC have released a joint provisional timetable for GCSE, AS and A level exams for summer 2019 via JCQ. The common timetable, which you can view here, captures the exam boards' plans for next year.
There is a list of the factors taken into consideration when constructing the common timetable on the JCQ website.
Of particular note, is that a contingency day has been added to the planned timetable for 2019 – this might not be used, but there is a possibility that if there is a need, that day may be used for an exam. As such schools, colleges and students need to be aware that the timetable could change and students can be expected to sit an exam on any day over the exam period.
Headteachers, senior leaders or heads of department must send any comments, observations or suggested amendments to the timetable to JCQ at email@example.com no later than 30 April 2018. JCQ will publish the finalised timetable by 30 June 2018. The provisional dates are:
Wednesday 14 August 2019 – restricted release of AS and A level results to centres only
Thursday 15 August 2019 – release of AS and A level results to candidates
Wednesday 21 August 2019 – restricted release of GCSE results to centres only
Thursday 22 August 2019 – release of GCSE results to candidates
