The National Children’s Bureau and the Partnership for Well Being and Mental Health in Schools, of which ASCL is a partner, has launched a new Self-assessment and Improvement Tool for Emotional Well-being and Mental Health in schools, accompanied by supporting resources for school leaders.
The tool outlines a four stage approach, drawing on Professor Katherine Weare’s review of the evidence of What works in promoting social and emotional well-being and responding to mental health problems in schools? It is designed to provide help and ideas for school leaders to create a culture that promotes and protects wellbeing and builds resilience. It influences attitudes and behaviours across the school and with families and partners, as well as providing help with how to respond systematically to individual mental health problems.
