Commission for Countering Extremism

15 January 2019

The Commission for Countering Extremism has launched a public call for evidence and Lead Commissioner, Sara Khan, is asking ASCL members and their staff to share their views. She said:

“Extremism affects us all and requires a whole society response. The Commission is gathering evidence for a first-of-its kind study into all forms of extremism in our country. Young people are among those most vulnerable to extremism and schools and colleges play a critical role in helping build resilience to extremism, in teaching critical thinking skills, and encouraging debate and a plurality of views.”

“I am keen to hear from as many teaching school and college staff, in an individual capacity, about the issues you have had to deal with. I also want to understand what more is required to help schools and colleges in what can be a complex issue. I look forward to your responses.”
