Action Counters Terrorism - Youth Campaign

03 October 2017

The DfE has asked us to make you aware of a new campaign aimed at informing young people on how to react to incidents involving firearms and other weapons. The Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) – Youth Campaign was launched last week by the counter-terrorism police and it is supported by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO).

The aim of the campaign is to better inform young people (mainly 11-16 year-olds) about how to react to an incident and identify suspicious behaviour. The campaign will be delivered in several phases over the next couple of weeks and will include a series of short films (the first of which is available online here) for you to share with staff, students and your wider school/college communities. The aim is to equip young people with information and guidance that both empowers and protects them.

There are also a number of existing resources available here.
