2017 Headteacher board elections: nominations now open

18 July 2017

Headteacher board (HTB) elections are being held across the eight Regional Schools Commissioner regions. HTBs were established in 2014 to advise and challenge the Regional Schools Commissioners on the decisions they take, as well as to provide an opportunity for the sector to help shape the school system in their region.

We would urge ASCL members to put themselves forward and stand for the positions. Eligible academy leaders can nominate themselves until midnight on Friday 21 July. Following the nomination process, academy headteachers (and executive headteachers) will be able to vote for the candidates they would like to see become HTB members for their region. The voting process will begin early next term from 8 – 21 September.

More information about the election process, including the eligibility criteria and how to nominate yourself, is available online here
