16 to 19 discretionary bursary and extended work placements funding

15 March 2018

The ESFA is making additional 16 to 19 bursary funding available to institutions that are delivering extended work placements in the 2018 to 2019 academic year with the Capacity and Delivery Fund.

This one-off funding is designed to ensure institutions have sufficient bursary funds to meet any increased demand for help from students who may need to travel further to access their work placement, or who have additional costs for equipment, subsistence and/or clothing. ‎

An explanation of how the additional funding has been calculated is included in the explanatory note that accompanies 2018 to 2019 academic year allocations. Information will also be included in the 16 to 19 bursary fund guidance which will be published in March 2018.
