Copyright Licensing Agency

July 2019

Did you know that UK schools already hold a copyright licence from the Copyright Licensing Agency? School staff can therefore copy extracts of published works without worrying about the permission that can be necessary under copyright law.

If you’d like to know more about the licence and how to protect yourself against the risk of copyright infringement, visit CLA’s Licence to Copy page.  With a helpful video, FAQs, and useful links to a range of resources for teachers and students, you’ll have a firmer sense of the copyright landscape.

CLA has also launched its Education Platform, which makes creating copies as easy as a couple of clicks.  All licensed institutions are eligible to use the platform at no extra cost, so your staff benefit from easier and quicker access to resources.

If you have any questions about your licence, simply email CLA’s Education Team.
