SENCO survey report

14 January 2020

A new report released this week by the National Association for Special Educational Needs (nasen) and Bath Spa University, contains findings about the allocation of time of SENCOs and makes a series of recommendations over this vital role. The report entitled The time is now: Addressing missed opportunities for Special Education Needs Support and Coordination in our schools can be read here (see ‘Project Review’ at the end of the page).

The report provides helpful insights into the experiences of SENCOs and recommends they consistently play a more strategic school role.

ASCL welcomes the report’s focus on this important subject and the findings and recommendations will be discussed at ASCL Council in February 2020.
