ASCL’s latest research project aims to stimulate a debate for school and college leaders about developments in wider society that are likely to affect what it means to be an education leader in 2020. The research is being carried out by consultant Robert Hill with generous support from Becta and EdisonLearning.
The project will produce a series of briefing papers over the next several months on eight broad dimensions. For each dimension, the briefing paper will summarise future trends and analyse the implications for public policy, teaching and learning, and the leadership of schools and colleges.
A number of ASCL members will be invited to attend a seminar to challenge and debate the assumptions presented. We also welcome comments from any ASCL members who have views or further thoughts on the briefing papers. Please email these to 2020future@ascl.org.uk Once all the comments have been collected, Robert will finalise the briefing papers to take account of ASCL members’ views and copies will be sent to all members.
