The education landscape is experiencing a period of ongoing structural change.
The increase in multi-academy trusts and other group structures within our system has implications for the business function, not least in terms of managing transition and ongoing growth, but also in delivering a service which combines business functionality across a group of schools in an efficient and effective manner.
Add to this the ongoing pressures to balance budgets in a climate of rising costs and real-terms income stagnation, and a further delay in the implementation of a new funding formula, the sector is looking increasingly towards business professionals for viable solutions.
What does this mean for school business leaders, what are the implications and how can we adapt our skills and competencies to accommodate and take advantage of these changes?
ASCL’s Annual Business Leaders Conference 2017 presents an invaluable opportunity for colleagues to explore and discuss strategies which will support this process. You will hear the very latest news from government and ASCL officials, as well as opportunities to network with other business leaders and practitioners, share good practice and investigate a range of sustainable options to address the current raft of challenges facing our system.
The conference will include keynote presentations and a series of breakout sessions which will cover a variety of topics, enabling delegates to tailor their day to meet their individual needs. Workshop topics will be published shortly, designed to appeal to both experienced praactitioners and newly appointed business leaders, together with those aspiring to the role or interested in learning more about the profession.
Another highlight is our pre-conference networking evening for delegates choosing to arrive the evening before; a great opportunity to meet conference presenters in an informal setting and begin that vital networking with other colleagues.
