2016 will bring an even greater focus on the role of School Business Leaders and School Business Managers.
The need to deliver even more efficiencies with a budget that continues to reduce in real terms means that some will face very challenging times in trying to secure the sustainability of their school/college/academy provision.
There is an argument that such ongoing fiscal challenges present a unique opportunity for the profession to guide their leadership colleagues in the direction of creative solutions, and that this is a defining moment for us to prove our worth.
ASCL’s conference is one of the most popular annual events supporting the ongoing professional development of practitioners. In 2016 we will provide a range of information from national sources to ensure delegates are as up to date as possible. Our wide ranging workshop programme will appeal to the most experienced and strategic within the profession, whilst at the same time engaging those newly appointed or aspiring to the role and for everyone in between those points.
The membership base of the association is changing to reflect the changing structures on our landscape, so this event has the capacity to offer a much wider scope for networking than ever before.
We welcome ALL those who are in practising roles – whatever the type of structure you work within – and any other school/college/academy leaders (including governors) who are seeking to extend their knowledge and understanding of this pivotal role.
Venue, organisation, speakers and workshops were all excellent. I will be attending again next year!
Whether you are a regular attendee or a first timer this conference is not to be missed!
Workshop topics for 2016.
There will also be three interactive, surgery-style sessions running concurrently with the workshops on the following topics:
Recruitment: discussing the issues and exploring a new values based approach
Managing transition to a new national funding formula
How to be an active ASCL member – what’s involved as a Council representative
NEW for 2016: three of the most popular breakout workshop sessions will be repeated, giving delegates more opportunities to get the most out of the day.
In addition to the surgeries and workshop programme, dedicated networking areas will be made available during breakouts for delegates who wish to meet up with colleagues, or meet others from their own region. Badges will be colour-coded this year to facilitate this process.
Once again in 2016, our conference sponsors Zenergi will be hosting an informal networking event on the evening before the conference, with refreshments and some light entertainment to help stimulate conversations and break the ice.
We know that many of you choose to stay at the venue on Wednesday evening. Why not attend this event to meet other delegates and some of the speakers/presenters delivering at the conference.
