The Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) is the only professional association and trade union in Britain to speak exclusively for secondary school and college leaders.
The core purpose of the association is fourfold:
to provide members with advice, legal support, services and representation
to engage with governments, employers and other bodies to promote and safeguard members’ interests
to support members’ professional development in becoming more effective leaders
to support members in offering students the highest quality of educational experience
ASCL represents more than 17,000 members, including secondary heads, deputy heads, assistant heads, bursars and business managers, college principals, vice-principals and others with whole school/college responsibility, and our numbers continue to grow as more leaders recognise the benefits of joining an association that so clearly addresses their needs.
Through ASCL, our members receive legal cover and support, access to advice through a telephone hotline, guidance and resource materials, updates on the latest education news, as well as commercial discounts.
They also know that ASCL is representing their views and concerns at the highest levels of government through the organisation’s Council and its network of education specialists.
ASCL is also a major provider of training courses and consultancy for its members and for schools, and you can find out more about what ASCL can offer in the Professional Development section.
